The clean-up of the dive sites and the beach on June 1 was a huge success. We had app. 75 volunteers that collected 100 full, large bags of garbage. The enthusiam was amazing and today people are asking when can we do it again! The party afterwards was excellent as well!
A huge THANK-YOU to all of the people who came out to help and to our wonderful sponsors who mde this possible!
The DISGUSTING
Tuesday or Wednesday of this week, more damage has been done to the Brain Coral at 3 Rocks, the popular snorkeling and diving site. This is often the first place tourists here get an introduction to our oceans.
Please DO NOT TOUCH the corals! Ensure that any company you are diving or snorkeling with instructs ALL participants to NOT touch the life forms.
This not only affects the health of the reef but also the future of the businesses that promote diving and snorkeling, as well as the hotels these tourists stay at, the restaurants they eat at, the bars they drink at, and every vendor that supplies transportation to them and the souvenirs that they purchase.
Let's be sure we leave tourists with a beautiful view and impresson of The North Coast.
