Underwater Engagement

5/20/2015

A few weeks ago I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph a surprise underwater engagement.

A fellow instructor had made the arrangements with the groom and under the guise of a "lost diver" scenario in his rescue course we laid the plan.  We descended to a beautiful clear location on the reef and got prepared.  A few minutes passed and the groom and his bride to be "found" me after an effective underwater search.

Sure enough, as he went to write the proposal on his slate - he drops his pencil!  Yep - I had a spare!

The reaction and the smile said it all, but the future bride did manage to write "YES"

Fresh roses were presented and the ring was placed on her finger.  We did manage to get a number of good shots and had a GREAT dive after on the reef.  The best part - it did come a s a surprise!

Congratulations and looking forward to seeing you back here in the warm, clear waters around Sosua!  That will remain one of the most memorable dives in my log book, and it was GREAT to be able to share the event with you and to gain two new dive buddies!

Have a great week everyone.  Now on to the Dive Site Clean-Up on June 1 !
